Feel Good, Feel Great!

I am curious... how do you get up in the morning and how do you keep motivated? What is it that gets that bounce in your step or are you struggling?

What I do know is that the more people I talk to the more I have come to realise that we are all motivated by different things - it is a seriously fascinating topic.

The other thing I have learnt is that it takes more effort to be motivated and happy than it does to be unmotivated and unhappy.

Some of you may not like what I am saying or understand it either, but I know that being happy is constant work and effort. What is nice about it is that the rewards are far greater than being down or depressed.

Feeling good takes knowing what makes you smile and what makes you engage with the world around you. If the major aspects of your life are well serviced you will find happiness in the efforts you make. But do we just want to feel good or do you want to feel great.

So I ask you again what makes you feel great?

For me getting up in the morning and getting stuck into a routine that works for me is one way of getting me in motion. I then try and start my day with exercise and wow does that help. That gets the endorphins and dopamine right up. I usually do this with friends or clients and that is definitely a great way to get into gear.

However, there are those days that you just know you are going to start the day off badly but having an unwavering routine and determination to not let anyone steal your thunder takes hard work and practice.

So I challenge you to change just a few things in the morning. Try and get up 30 min earlier and that might mean you need to get to bed 30min earlier. So stop playing on Facebook, Candy Crush and Minecraft and you will see how quickly that one change will change your life. It isn’t good to start the day rushed and being late, stuck in traffic is a sure way of having a shocking start to your day.

Get your household used to connecting a little before rushing off in all your different directions. We all need to work on our connected-ness because a happy home usually makes for happy people in the family.

Getting a decent bite to eat is also a really great start. You need to fuel your body for the day ahead so don’t miss out on this important part of getting a good start. Your brain needs oxygen so breathe, rushing around doesn’t make this possible and that is a sure way of being anxious and stressed out when all you needed to do was plan and stick to a regime that works for you and suits your lifestyle.

Feeling good and feeling great is a choice too. You should always choose happiness above everything else. You need to have this attitude and practice it every day because you know what...? Practice will make you really good at it and imagine being in control of your happiness and the way you feel.
